(Devotion)

Tony Warren, 2010

Created as the official wedding gift to Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden. The composition employs symbolic still-life elements drawn from Old Master tradition — chalice, river stones, warm light — each carrying layered meaning around devotion, permanence, and grace.

As with all Warren works, black pigment is absent from the canvas. All shadow and depth emerge from complementary colour relationships alone — a discipline rooted in his training at the School of Representational Art, Chicago.

Provenance

Original drawing and symbolic objects acquired by Nordiska Museet (Nordic Museum), Stockholm, 2012 — formally recognised as contemporary Swedish cultural heritage.
